Andaz Napa Valley
I’ve wanted to visit California for so long. It was hard to believe that this east coast girl had never been to the Golden State. Well, if you read my Best Napa Valley Wineries post, you saw that I finally made it happen last August. Napa Valley was one of the stops and I quickly fell in love with the whole area. I stayed at the beautiful Andaz Napa. If you followed my trip on Instagram stories, you might have learned that I’ve quickly become a fan of the Andaz brand.
If you’ve never stayed at an Andaz property allow me to introduce you. The Andaz is Hyatt‘s lifestyle brand. Each Andaz property has something different to offer because they’re all lifestyle boutique hotels with characteristics influenced by its location. Each hotel is one of a kind in every sense, and Andaz Napa is no different.
Location
With so many hotels to choose from in Napa Valley, I decided on Andaz Napa because of its great location in Downtown Napa. I loved that it’s in the middle of a ton of restaurants, shops, and wine tasting rooms within walking distance. There’s several actually on the same street! I also liked that there are many wineries within a 10-minute drive.
On our first day, we went to Artesa and Domaine Carneros, which were a short and inexpensive Uber ride. The following day we explored the wineries in Yountville and St. Helena and those were only a 20-30 minute drive. It could not have been in a more convenient location. You’ll appreciate being able to drop off your car and explore downtown Napa by foot.
Checking In
While check-in is at 4 pm, I arrived around 1 pm and to my surprise my room was already available. The front office manager handled the check-in and made me feel so welcomed! I really appreciated that the check-in was pretty quick as I was excited to get settled in and explore the hotel and area.
Upon arrival, they gave me glass of Chardonnay that was delicious. It was a perfect welcome andreally set the tone for the rest of the stay. Self-parking was $10 and located right behind the hotel.

The Room at Andaz Napa
We were given well-appointment loft suite with a king bed. It was such a great space and immaculately clean. The living room area was separate from the bedroom with a fireplace. In the bedroom, there’s a lovely deep soaking bathtub right outside of the bathroom. The bathroom itself was huge, with double sinks and a rain shower.
Our view was overlooking the outdoor terrace. All the snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in the minibar were complimentary. Like what?! That’s amazing! They also leave a card that lists all the complimentary items you can request or borrow.
Mercantile Terrace
My favorite part of the hotel and the most memorable experience of my stay was the 2nd-floor outdoor terrace called Mercantile-Terrace. It’s a beautiful space that has a full bar, cabanas, tables, and rocking chairs surrounding a fire pit. I loved the ambiance because It’s a great place to relax at the end of the day.
My friend and I went out there to sit around the fire pit and have a drink. Howard was our server, and he was just amazing. I asked if they could make a mojito as it’s one of my favorite drinks. He told me they didn’t have it on the menu, but they would definitely make it for me. Kudos to him for making us feel special! He just had a great and funny personality, and we enjoyed chatting with him.

Service at Andaz Napa
My favorite part of our stay was the fantastic customer service – the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to offer recommendations and directions to various points of interest. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and professional. You can tell that they care about their guest’s experience.
I called Guest Services to request makeup wipes, and a safety pin and Marissa was so helpful. Someone was at my door with the items within 5 minutes. One evening they even sent us a bottle of wine and chocolate to our room which was such a pleasant surprise! Super thoughtful!
Two days was definitely not a long enough stay at this amazing hotel. It really exceeded my expectations, and I hope to have the opportunity to stay there again in the future when visiting Napa!

I loooove Andaz! They recently opened one in Ottawa (where I’m from) and me and a few friends decided to stay there. We received the same kind of treatment you did and it was an amazing experience! This one in Napa Valley looks absolutely gorgeous too. Thank you for sharing this! 🙂

Love the attention you received at Andaz. I’m quite impressed that they sent over wine and chocolate unexpectedly. That’s amazing service. Haven’t been to Napa in years and I’ve been thinking about going back. Will check out the Andaz for the service and location. Thanks for the recommendation.

Andaz sounds and looks lovely! I love that you were able to order a mojito there. I’ve always been curious about Napa but am not a big wine person, so it’s good to know that it’s not frowned upon to grab a cocktail or beer there in lieu of wine. Beautiful photos!!

Haha definitely not! You should definitely visit!

Ah California is at the top of my bucket list. I’ve only ever been to the US once – to Florida when I was young. But if there’s one place I want to visit there it’s California. And Napa Valley sounds really cool. Will definitely keep this in mind
